If you have been cycling for a while now and you are interested in getting out into the really tough parts of the world to test your skills on a mountain bike then you really need to start looking into a few important things first before you miss out on some of the greatest laces to ride. You could also end up in big trouble if you don?t keep the basics in mind and if you avoid taking precautions to make sure you are safe during your ride. Most places that you want to explore that are not anywhere near the regular cycling routes that you might know will often require a bit of reading and investigation into where they are and how hard the rides will be when you eventually get around to trying them.

In my meagre experience I have come across a grading system for a lot o the trails and they usually work out on a scale of one to ten.

I have come a cross basic sign boards on the routes that I have ridden on and they of just say six out of ten for example and then you know that it?s going to be an above average route. In fact, some cases have just been red lines on a map as opposed to green and blue lines to indicate the degree of difficulty you are going to encounter. Unfortunately, that is not always an accurate description of the routes because I have ridden some green routes that are more difficult than the red ones, and I have actually tried a few red ones that have been nearly impossible to try at all. So much so that if I had tried specific sections of these routes, I would have had to have a face transplant to get rid of the grit and dirt that would have been embedded in my face after trying some of them. Ideally, you want to be going on what other people have experienced and if you want to know where to look, then you can start on the cycling forums. Avid cyclists make regular posts there about cool routes they have done and they often tell you what to expect along the way.
